1. UV-C LED Driver and Control Circuitry: The PCBA integrates a constant-current driver circuit specifically designed to power and control high-output UV-C LEDs. This circuit ensures the LEDs operate at their optimal wavelength (typically 260-280nm) and intensity for effective germicidal action while managing their lifespan.
2. Precision Timing and Cycle Management Microcontroller: At its heart, a microcontroller manages the entire sanitization cycle. It controls the exact duration of UV exposure (e.g., 3, 5, or 10 minutes), manages user-selected modes, and drives the display or indicator lights to show cycle status and completion.
3. Safety Interlock and Lid Sensor System: A critical safety feature involves a sensor (often a reed switch or hall-effect sensor) that detects if the box's lid is securely closed. The PCBA's logic is designed to immediately cut power to the UV-C LEDs if the lid is opened during a cycle, preventing accidental exposure to harmful UV-C radiation.
4. Reflective Chamber Optimization: The PCBA design often includes simple circuits to control optional supplemental LEDs (like white light for visibility) within a chamber lined with reflective aluminum to maximize UV light distribution and ensure even exposure to all item surfaces.
